Yes, I carry essential equipment and medications to handle the most common complications that can arise during labor, birth, or the immediate postpartum period. This includes tools to monitor you and your baby’s well-being, oxygen, IV fluids, anti-hemorrhagic medications (for postpartum bleeding), suturing supplies, and newborn resuscitation equipment. I am trained in emergency response, including neonatal resuscitation (NRP), and work with a certified birth assistant at every birth. If a situation arises that requires care beyond what is safely manageable at home, I have protocols in place to ensure smooth and timely transfer to the hospital when needed. Your safety is always the top priority.
I will stay with you for about 2–3 hours after your baby is born to ensure both you and your baby are stable and doing well. I’ll help with immediate postpartum care, assist with breastfeeding initiation, and provide emotional support. We’ll also discuss your recovery plan. After this, I will return for postpartum visits at 2-3 days, 2 weeks and 6 weeks to continue supporting you.
