Meet Andrea
I am Andrea Reed, owner of It Takes a Village. I am from Gary, IN, and relocated to Dallas in 2015. I have always had a passion for birth as a child and wanted to be an OBGYN, but it wasn't until my own birthing experience that I decided to start my journey into the natural birth world as a doula and then midwifery. I have been a doula since 2016, and I have served over 160 families in my doula role all across the DFW metroplex and other states as well as over 200 families as a student midwife. I have four beautiful children whom I have all birthed naturally. I am a recent 2023 graduate of Southwest Technical College. With every family I serve, my goal is to support and educate them so they can be confident in themselves to have the birth that they desire. I have attended many different variations of birth including VBACS, breech birth, and twins. I am currently a student midwife at Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness in Dallas, TX.
